About us

For many, golf is a gift. To us, it’s a gateway.
A gateway to recreational, educational, and professional opportunities that can
inspire our youth and our communities to reach even higher.
Where there are obstacles to learning and development, we use golf to clear a path.
At the Pinkney Foundation, we are developing the next generation of leaders
through focused programming that gets their bodies moving,

minds working, and dreams realized.

The Pinkney Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization created to serve urban youth by providing programs and projects that assist in developing essential life skills

in areas such as financial literacy, entrepreneurship, education, arts,

humanities, and recreation.

The foundation was co-founded in June 2018 by husband and wife duo,

Preston and JaVonnie Pinkney.

Mr. Pinkney, a 2023 Jefferson Award Recipient and Board Member of the Northern California Golf Association, has served as program director of the Ace Kids Golf Program in Oakland, CA.  He directed the daily operations and introduced over 10,000 youth

to golf during his 23 years with the City of Oakland

Parks, Recreation and Youth Department.

Mrs. Pinkney has 24 years experience as a Financial Center Manager

in the finance industry.

When she is not at the bank, she enjoys teaching financial literacy to our youth.

JaVonnie received the 2021 Bank of America Valiant

Award for her exceptional Community Service.
